The Alvington Singers will sing in Stokenham this June as part of their Summer programme.
The chamber choir will perform Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle and motets by Rachmaninov and Bruckner. The concert is being held at St Michael and All Angels Church, Stokenham on Friday 20th June, 7.30pm. For more information phone 01548 531252.
Anyone unable to make the 20th can catch the Singers in action in Salcombe on Monday 14th June where the group will perform the same music at Holy Trinity Church, starting at 7.30pm.
The Alvington Singers were established in 1985 as a chamber choir of thirty members. Based in Kingsbridge, its membership is drawn from all around the South Hams district.
Concerts take place throughout the year, covering a wide range of both secular and sacred music, including vocal and instrumental soloists, as well as major works with orchestral accompaniment.
The choir is keen to promote young performers and frequently invites local schoolchildren to take part. Concerts take place in a variety of venues, usually to raise money for charitable causes.
In addition to concerts, the choir is often invited to sing at weddings, functions and local festivals.
