Stokenham House Cottages

Just across the road from the cottages is Stokenham Village Green normally a haven of peace and tranquillity but occasionally to be used to celebrate special events such as the Golden Jubilee in 2002.
The accommodation is in the form of cottages that are part of the rear of the house with sea glimpses from the gardens. They overlook a sunny, gravelled courtyard filled in the spring and summer with flowering baskets and tubs and with their own garden laid to lawn and trees enclosed on two sides by old stone walls.
The ancient nature of the building means there are some unusual shaped rooms with sloping ceilings, steep staircases and nooks and crannies. Each cottage was completely renovated in the summer of 1999 with new carpeting and curtaining throughout (the kitchens have new cushion floor), new beds and bedding, new solid country pine fronted kitchen cabinets and new electrical appliances.
Gates provide security for children from both the road and parking area. Garden tables and chairs and barbeques are provided for each cottage. There is a laundry room off the courtyard with washing machine, tumble dryer and payphone, all for use by the guests Cots, highchairs and stair-gates are available on request and linen, electricity and heating (if needed) are all included in the price. Towels, tea towels and cot bedding are not provided.
